“An authority on cross cultural mission work”

“I have known and admired Dave (and Pam) Lovett for close to 30 years. Our relationship began when he was a young cross cultural worker and I was the senior Pastor of one of his supporting churches.

From the beginning I recognized he had a keen sense of calling and a quiet determination to fulfill it. He also demonstrated a willing spirit and a teachable attitude – characteristics not always very pronounced in those who are firmly committed to a sense of calling. From the beginning I sensed that Dave by the grace of God was a “born cross cultural worker” – or more accurately he possessed the spiritual equipping necessary for a career in cross cultural work. As the years went by I had numerous opportunities to visit him and/or his co-workers in the places such as Pakistan, India, Tajikistan, and Bangladesh and to hear of his work in other countries I did not visit such as Iran.

Always I observed a determination to “stick with it” in situations where others were not always able to do so , and a calm disposition that did not ignore the difficulties and/or dangers in which his work frequently placed him, but at the same time kept him on course for his “Calling” to reach as many people as possible, to help as many needy as crossed his path, and to encourage those who were weary in the struggle of their ministry in hard places.

As the years went by he was asked to undertake varous assignments all of which placed him in tough scenes and hard places and without fail he took on the task at hand. Slowly patiently his stature grew in the coomunities to which he belonged until he is now recognized widely as an “authority” on cross cultural mission work particularly in the hard places. . He knows what he’s talking about, because he’s done what he said he would – with grace and effectivness. He could be a poster boy for the “Been there, done that, got the T shirt” crowd provided you add “Got the scars and still keeping on keeping on.”

“Extremely knowledgeable, and up to date”

To whom it may concern;
I’ve known David Lovett since 1996, meeting with him in at Elmbrook church in Brookfield Wi. At that time David was heavily entrenched on the Silk Road, with cutting edge material dealing with the the cultures and communities of Central Asia, before people even thought about “ the Stans”. . David has always been extremely knowledgeable, and up to date in all conversations, newsletters, and communication. I personally give him all my support.

“There is no one I would rather partner with on international, cross-cultural work”

I have known David Lovett as a student, colleague in ministry, and a friend for more than 25 years. I have worked with him in many settings, both locally and internationally. Independent of the setting, he consistently displays competence, compassion, and confidence. He is sensitive to the unique cultural, contextual, and current factors as well as recognizing the shared humanity in any situation.

David exhibits a confident humility congruent with his emotional and spiritual maturity. A creative problem solver, he is a realistic optimist. I have seen on many occasions how he has been able to address a seemingly overwhelming problem with calmness, creativity, and ultimately a novel and effective solution. There is no one I would rather partner with on international, cross-cultural work than David Lovett.

“Most outstanding long term staff”

Dave and Pam Lovett are two of the most outstanding long term cross cultural workers I have known, having served especially in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iran and other places. It has been an amazing marathon and we have had strong links all the way. We especially thank the Lord for those who pray for them and support them. They are in an important leadership role now and need our support and prayer more than ever
